Stuff I've Eaten - Nagoya Edition

The day we arrived in Nagoya, I developed a pretty severe case of (the usually fatal) Japanese Encephalitis, which Emma clearly misdiagnosed as "just a headache you whiny bastard". As such I was a little lax on taking photos that day.

I did manage to look up from my deathbed long enough to take
one photo of the Sushi train.

I attribute my miraculous survival to the healing properties of
the maple cakes I bought in Miyajima.

Needing to rebuild my shattered body, we sought out
Misokatsu for lunch the next day.

Beer and complimentary weak green tea.

We shared three dishes.
crumbed Pork from a fancy pig in red miso sauce.
This is pretty delicious.

crumbed loin from regular pig in same.
It's a delicious-off! I'm not sure which is better.

half/half normal pig with red miso/rubbish normal tonkatsu sauce.
Could've skipped this, the other two were way better.

Cute donuts

coffee

pumpkin
For dinner we had Eel Nagoya style.
The setup

Eel on rice

First you eat a serving as is,

then you add the various condiments to a second serve.

Then (assuming you didn't eat all your condiments last serve)
You add the rest of your condiments and they bring you soup to pour over it.
Not pictured: if you have enough for a forth serve, because the eel/rice bucket is pretty big, have it however you liked most of the previous things (assuming you have condiments left)

The seven elevens have been having a competition related to the Harry Potter and the suitcase spin-off film. For every 700 yen you spend (about $8 or $9) you get to reach into the mystery box and pull out a card.
At this point Emma had been to the sev 3 times,
spend between 700 and 1400 each time, and won 3 things.
I decided to stop by the seven eleven and buy a few drinks to enjoy while I watched Netflix that evening.
This is the booze I paid for

I spent enough to get 3 cards. This is the booze I won.
I'm not sure it's possible to lose with this competition.
