A tale of two hotels

So an ex-co-worker of mine was coincidentally going to be in Japan at roughly the same time I was, and so we decided to catch up over there and eat ridiculous amounts of food together while his wife was buying shoes.

o since his trip was all sorted he said, I'll be in Osaka between these dates and am staying at the Hotel Monterey Osaka, so I tweaked my plans and booked a room.

It was a nice room.

decent bathroom

very nice bed.
That's a classy door

Card swipe at each floor to keep the riff raff out

An elevator of high regard

Look at those buttons

The workmanship on each element of the door.

The character of the interior mirror and its wood paneling
Of course, it turned out the "acquaintance I knew from my old job" had booked himself into the Hotel Monterey LeFrere Osaka in a clear attemt to avoid and inconvenience me.

However, he played himself, since my hotel was clearly superior

This a lobby. Stone, tile, and chandeliers with the appropriate amount of decor.

As opposed to this uninspired "entrance room".
Who knows how much excrement has been trodden into those insipid carpet squares since the last time
the hideously toxic industrial sealant that binds them to their sad fate was scraped off and they were replaced?

My hotel's corridor's have art a plenty
And a midget sized door for the cleaning staff of Oompa-Lompas to emerge and clean the rooms while the guests are away.
All in all this corridor exudes class

Look at this bland corporate farce. A maze of twisty passage all alike.

My hotel has corridor ceiling draws.

Guess whose hotel doesn't

And of course, worst of all, his hotel has what mine doesn't. Riff-Raff.

  1. There must be giants AND midgets in your hotel to be able to use the corridor drawers
