Viva Las Vegas

After a bit of a convoluted flight to LA first, we arrived in Vegas
The welcome sign at the airport
Of course, it being Vegas, we hadn't made it that far before an opportunity to gamble had been offered
Waiting for a plane at the gate? Got too much money? Vegas has the solution!
Our first night we were staying at the Luxor, because Laura had told us "You have to stay in a Pyramid"
It's a bit hard to make out the black glass pyramid in the dark.
Everything inside more or less look like this, only with more slot machines.
I hate to break it to her, but apparently not all of their rooms are in the pyramid (In fact I think the bulk aren't). Ours were in the tower next door, so technically I still haven't slept in a pyramid.
The room bit of my room
We decided that since we were in the land of excess, while we were in Vegas we'd get a room each, rather than sharing a twin to keep costs down, as per the rest of the trip.
The bedroom bit of my room
Ken had a room that presumably looked more or less the same.

After settling in and video Calling home FROM SOME RANDOM FUCKING CORRIDOR on the ground level of the hotel, because you know, in room wifi doesn't fit with the ancient theme of the hotel, and is only for high rollers in the motel 6 in the back lot off the freeway... sorry where was I? Oh yes, after settling in we went for a walk down the strip.

It bright

and garish

and tacky. This is a nightclub inside a chandolier...

...inside a shopping center.

The Bellagio fountains are pretty cool.
They dance to music every 15 minutes or so.

Did I mention it was bright.
