For those of you who enjoyed the parade in Nikko, you're in for a real treat.
Everyone else may as well move on.
Anyway, we arrived in Kyoto, timed such that there were two autumn festivals on that day.
The first was called Jidai Matsuri, and consisted of a parade of people wearing traditional clothing from Kyoto's past.
Starting at the Imperial Palace, the parade route is about 4.5 km, and it takes well over an hour for the parade to pass a given spot.

Good for you. As a reward here is a picture of a woman stepping out of the parade to shake hands with a Shiba Inu in the crowd.
