Stuff I've Eaten - Sapporo

I had an overnight stay in Tokyo, to ease the pain of travelling all the way from Kyoto to Sapporo in one day.
I ate at the Sushi restaurant in Ginza I ate at last trip. The chef recognized me and I ate much the same set of things as last time, so I didn't take many photos. I did have one thing I definitely didn't have last time, however I'll need to edit it in later when my internet isn't an utter crap shoot. (The further back I have to go the more photos it needs to load, and so the longer I spend trying to go back the more likely that my internet flakes out long enough to cause the pictures to stop loading)

Anyway, on to Sapporo

Crab Bento

Orange I Lohas water

Crab and Uni bento

Peach

Lemon

The best ramen is Sapporo supposedly.
I see no reason to doubt this claim.

Uni and butter baked potato at the snow festival

Deer on a stick

"Crab" on a stick

Baked squid

filled with rice

America scone withe earl grey and orange

Watching the lights come on with a G&T, the finest of city observing drinks.

Watching the snowboarding with a buttered rum

24 hour sushi, aki ebi

hotate

ark shell

Shako

The festival set, the one on the right involves monkfish liver

Sea eel, apparently in season and very good

inari and uni

strawberry booze

peach booze

peach nectar

Garlic Mayo flavour

curry flavoured at a guess

Some sort of citrus liquor, odd, but not bad.

Snow festival ramen. Good, but not dethroning "the best" any time soon.

Roast chestnuts

hot chocolate and cointreau

This was a bad round of drinks, and this was the best of a bad lot. Honey and lemon water.

Tea flavoured booze? I tipped it out.

Yoghurt water

As yet un-opened.

Washing the taste out of my mouth with more chestnuts.
The conveyor belt sushi place at Sapporo station is supposed to be fantastic, and it more or less was, and would bump Kyoto station from my favourite train station sushi spot, except for the 2 hour wait to get in. At least they give you a numbered ticket and you can wander off and do whatever while you wait. Still, I got there at 12ish and when I went in at 2 there was still a 2 hour wait for seats. On a weekday. These guys must just be printing money.

Crab belly

Sardine

Arrowtooth Halibut. In season, and really good.

Same? but with natto?

More halibut.

Grilled surf clam

Tidepool gunnel

botan ebi

lean tuna

hotate

sea eel

uni

The damage

melon pocky

popping candy chocolate

a cheese tart
